18. Can I update my submission during the contest period?

No, Submissions should not be edited after they have been submitted, with limited exceptions.

There should be no substantive changes to your Submission (including to the key story elements and characters) after it has been submitted. Edits are permitted in limited circumstances (e.g., mistaken uploads, correcting typos, updating series or episode thumbnails, redistributing panels, or updating content to comply with our Community Guidelines), but timing is important. Please ensure your Submission qualifies and complies with the Official Rules before submitting it for consideration within the applicable Submission Period. Do not reupload or resubmit your Submission to make changes outside the scope of the limited circumstances mentioned above.

19. What happens if I miss the additional episode deadline?

If you miss the deadline for submitting the additional episodes, your submission will not move forward to the next stage of judging. Deadlines are strict and must be adhered to in order to maintain fairness for all participants.

20. Will the judging panel provide feedback?

No, the judging panel will not provide individual feedback on all submissions. Due to the high volume of entries, it is not possible to offer personalized critiques. However, creators are encouraged to use this contest as a learning experience and to continue refining their craft.

21. How old do I have to be to receive the prize money?

To enter, you must be at least thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of entry.  Minors must get their parent or legal guardian’s permission to enter.  If you are a minor and are selected as a potential winner, your parent or legal guardian will need to co-sign certain Verification Documents to win the prize.  Further details are in the Official Rules.

22. What is an Episode? / What defines an "Episode" for the Contest?

At WEBTOON, an "Episode" of an 'ORIGINALS' series is an installment of a digital comic that consists of a set number of panels, includes (without limitation) storyline and/or characters, and is uploaded as a single unit of content on the WEBTOON platform. Special uploads like Q&As, Character Sheets, and trailers are not considered canonical "Episodes."

For the Contest, each Episode must meet the minimum panel count required for the entry's Genre Category in order to qualify.

23. What about multi-part uploads, that are labeled as one Episode?

If content that is intended to be one Episode is split between multiple uploads, each upload  will count as individual Episodes regardless of any labeling or title (e.g., Episode 1-Part 1 and Episode 1-Part 2 will be considered as two Episodes).

In this case each individual upload will need to include the minimum panel count in order to be eligible for the Contest.

Uploads which are part of the sequential story, such as Prologues, will also count as an Episode, and will need to include the minimum panel count to be eligible.

24. What about Additional or Bonus Content?

Uploads which are Covers, Teasers or Trailers, Character Designs, or Q&As do not continue the sequential story, and are not considered Episodes.

For the Contest, uploads that are clearly marked "Cover," "Teaser / Trailer," "Character" designs/introduction, or other concept or promotion materials that are not part of your sequential story are not considered Episodes, and will not be judged as part of your submission.

Creators that choose to upload additional content like this are still eligible - but only their Episodes will be judged.

In the case these additional materials are not marked clearly, it will be at the judges' discretion to judge that Episode or not.

25. What counts as a panel?

A panel is a frame or a single drawing. A panel can vary in size and complexity depending on its purpose.

For example, a panel can be an establishing shot, a close-up, high angle shot, long shot, etc.

Title Cards at the beginning of episodes, End of Episode Statements, or additional content that is not part of the sequential story, does not count as a panel.

Here are some examples of how we would count panels:

Figure A: 2 panels

 Figure B: 1 panel

26. Is there a newsletter I can sign up for to keep updated on the contest?

Yes, sign up using the link below to stay updated on all the latest contest news and updates: https://mailchi.mp/webtoon.com/webtoon-2025-contest-webcomic-legends-newsletter

27. I’m not finding the answer to my question, who can I contact?

Please email legendscontest@webtoon.com with any questions.

28. Do I need to submit all my episodes at once or can I submit them weekly?

You can decide! You can submit all your episodes at once, or over time.

As a Contest participant you can determine the upload schedule that works best for you and your submission.

WEBTOON’s app will prompt readers to subscribe to your series after the 3rd episode. So many creators do choose to launch their series with 3 episodes to make use of this feature.

However, during past WEBTOON Contests, Creators have sometimes published their episodes weekly, to stand out to new readers tuning in to explore Contest entries. Or they may publish all 3 initial episodes, and then shared additional content to keep readers engaged. Your publishing schedule is ultimately up to you.

 29. What happens if I win?

In addition to monetary prizes, the Grand Prize Winner, Genre Winners, and Genre Finalists will join our WEBTOON Originals lineup, where their series will be an ongoing title on the platform.

These winners will also receive separate compensation through their Publishing Contract, in addition to the prize money for their category in the Contest.

Winners in the Genre Runner-Ups category will have the chance to pitch their title to WEBTOON’s US Editorial Team for an opportunity to potentially join the WEBTOON Originals lineup.
