My own grasp of the Irish language is pretty bad, even to this day. In Ireland we have to learn the Irish language, but it is thought in a way that doesn't make it very attractive to use beyond school. I have regretted my lack of Irish and so in a way Bata Neart is my way of trying to re-learn. Each new line in Irish is a chance for me to learn it again :)
