Amber Wood, an 18-year-old resident of Sylvania, becomes the 150th sacrifice to the earth dragon. But Amber's fate takes an unexpected turn as the dragon appoints her to be his maid. She starts working as the dragon's maid under the supervision of a quick-tempered parrot called Sir Nestor. One day while looking for her pet rabbit Archie, Amber stumbles upon a life-changing secret behind a hidden door. Is there more than chance and duty between her and the dragon?
