As icky as it may seem, it's actually really good to have a litterbox in social places like living rooms. Cats want to have their scent in those places too, and a living room is the perfect place! I clean her box(es) 2-3x per day, depending on how often she uses it. Sometimes as I'm cleaning, she just hops in and does her business.
