The lyrics are from Home Free's (YT) cover of this song, I recommend listening to that while reading! There's a bit of a backstory to how I came up with this scene. I was reading Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga 'Fire Punch' years back, and there was a part where the main character was fighting while a choir of people were singing. There was no specified song in the manga, but in my head it was this one!
