Red Mud begins as earth is destroyed by space folding monsters with a terrible appetite and singular purpose: to consume all life they can find. One tiny misfit among these creatures leads a life of quiet misery, refusing to make carnage for his own gain, but trapped between the endless machinations of his kind and his own death. This story is about his choice to save and raise two abandoned human infants as his own family, and what happens when we allow ourselves to love fiercely.
