Even when I wasn't sick with a virus, I still often felt sick due to my anxiety. I missed a lot of fun things because of this, and one thing I've learned working with a therapist is that excitement and anxiety have a lot of the same symptoms. Now when I get butterflies before events I try to tell myself I am excited, not anxious. Rephrasing changes how I interpret the feelings.
