internalized homophobia is hard to deal with. ive researched LGBT history and the discrimination is horrible! society still has its issues today but back then when it was even worse i cant imagine how queer people felt. the story is set back in time, and although i could have pretended that this would not be an issue, i felt like that would be a disservice and wanted to represent that in my story
