After a tragic childhood accident, Evangelique De'Sejour lost her Hamadyrad blood and became fully human. But on the night she arrives to her new home in Mumei, Novah, she is caught up in a spell-binding funeral procession and she finds herself slowly regaining her Hamadryad abilities.
