So, you should definitely look up Russell's Teapot if you weren't already familiar. The Teapot was Bertrand Russell's very British satire of similar arguments made for the existence of God, the point being that it is frequently impossible to prove something doesn't exist... the burden of proof is always on the person trying to prove that it DOES exist.
