The Kauaʻi ʻōʻō (Moho braccatus) were the last of their family, and their final song was recorded in 1987 by David Boynton and I definitely reccomend listening to it on youtube. It's a beautiful song and the pauses the male makes are there for a female to sing; of course there was no female to join in that time. The notes drawn come from a transcribed version of their distinctive song.
