Gullah Geechee Adventures: Hoodoo Magick is a comic book series that follows the journey of Kaya, a young Gullah Geechee woman who inherits a mysterious book of hoodoo spells from her grandfather. Hoodoo is a form of folk magic that originated from the enslaved Africans in the American South. Kaya decides to use her hoodoo skills to help her community and protect it from various threats, such as greedy developers, corrupt politicians, and wicked supernatural creatures like the Yurugu. Along the way, she also learns more about what it means to be Gullah Geechee.
