Once upon a time, in a faraway land where the gods have all perished, there was a simple woodcutter named Riki Axol. She was kindhearted and wanted for nothing. One day, an injured man shows up at her doorstep, and she decides to help him-but then he reveals that he's the king of a neighboring country and that he's being hunted by a pair of very, very violent people. And thus begins the woodcutter's involvement in things far beyond her understanding.
