We pick up the story a month later. Amalie is getting settled in at the fort, and things seem to be going great. But this is a horror story, which means it can't stay that way for long! What Amalie and Ryan call "the bodega" is not and was never actually a bodega. It's an abandoned fallout shelter they found and routinely raid for canned goods.
