Their rival Babylon always had a bigger fame because of its role in the bible, so let's give Assyria some wel deserved attention. They were one of the most influential entities of ancient times, spreading many innovations and legislation across every corner of west-Asia and Egypt, and were probably more important to world history than the Babylonian empire that succeeded them.
