American hyena Kathy Grrsn learns that she is heir to a duchy in Africa. Against her will, she and her sister Sandy must travel to Rackenroon and present themselves to their great-grandmother, the Duchess Songween. They are accompanied by Songween's adjutant, Lieutenant Frederick Usiku Kruger, of the Hyena Brigade--who also happens to be betrothed to Kathy in a marriage arranged by his fabulously wealthy family.
