Maria is a young mother in the favela (Brazilian slums) of Paraisopolis. A neighborhood full of gang violence and poverty, she can't wait for her and her husband to save up enough money to get her and her kids to a more decent home. That is, until, a life-changing event throws a wrench in her family's bright future.... With two sons to raise, watch as Maria overcomes the toughest of odds for the sake of her family.
