In a world, split into 5 fragments, from time to time a child is born with the dragon's curse. "The mark". An innocent child with the power to destroy everything and everyone if it isn't killed before it is grown enough to use this power. In the poor land of Paxus destiny strikes as Cade's little brother is born. Even though he is taken away and his parents killed for this cursed birth, years later, Cade still has a feeling that his brother is alive and sets off to find him.
